Expander v1.1E 2/2/93
I picked up this file without any documentation, so I went ahead and
wrote my own. The program cannot be sold. Just last month I
acquired a resource construction kit, so I decided to peek into this
and translate it from it's native French to English (hence the
1.1E). Aside from translation and some appearance changes, nothing
else was touched. Francois Guilleme, if you see this, I hope you
don't mind what I've done!
What it does-
Expander.acc will take your single-sided floppy, read the data off
of it, then format it as a double-sided disk, and then write that
stored data back to it, all in one operation!
Click on A or B, depending on which drive is to be read and
formatted. "GO!" starts the process. Once started, you cannot
stop. Make sure you start with a single-sided disk; otherwise
you'll get a message saying you can't go from a double-sided disk to
a four-sided disk! (Grin)
If you ask it to use a drive where a disk does not exist, it will
simply look for a disk. If it doesn't find one, it will simply
revert to it's normal inactive state. It won't ask you to put a
disk in the drive.
It keeps you informed of what it is doing-reading tracks, writing
tracks, or formatting tracks. Unfortunately, that part is coded
into the program and I couldn't get to it and translate the French.
"Formatage de la piste" means "Formatting track", "Lecture de la
piste" means "Writing track", and "Ecriture de la piste" means
"Reading track". Or something like that!
This 1986 program even works on TOS 2.06 and from within MultiDesk
Deluxe!
